Choices & Consequences

So we got weather advice from our friends before making the journey to CO, we also double checked that info(not too thoroughly cuz we took their word for it) and we paid the price for that. Today we got a late start cuz we had our car serviced due to a wheel squeak, so got on the road around 2:30. Within 60 miles we were looking around thinking, if we were in georgia with this weather we would pull off the road. We quickly called Kendall and asked for what we were getting into. He told us its totally okay in co to drive in this snow, but still be careful. We took his word and said "if these simi-trucks can do it we can too, and look at all these cars with co tags, they're flying, we got this!" Then those co tags started to slow to about 20mph, that's when we looked for a place to stop and see if we could wait it out. At the restaurant we found a local as well as talking to the waiter, both of them said "oh yeah, I wouldn't drive tonight it's just going to get worse and I-70 gets really sketchy at night when it's like this, I would start again in the morning." So at 4 1/2 hours and 140 miles we found a great hotel for cheap and we are safe and sound. Well let's be honest, we played the lottery driving to co in January, we lost. It cost us One day lost and a hotel room but man was it worth it getting to see and hang with so many people we love and miss.
